The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav laid the foundation stone of 1,980 MW capacity thermal power plants in the state’s Kanpur district, which is a joint collaboration between Neyvelli Lignite Corporation (NLC) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUN).
Chief Minister said that the government is committed to resolve the power crisis, as this will help in elevation of the poverty and help the citizens.
He further added that we have the resources and we will work tirelessly to deliver the campaign promises and would compensate the farmers, who have given their lands for this project.
The chief guest for the event was Union Coal Minister Prakash Jaiswal said that the central government was committed to providing coal blocks and coal linkages for thermal power plants.
The Minister also said that by the year 2015, the plant would be in a position to ensure that power crisis is resolved.
