Brig (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, the President of Pakistan Hockey Federation has recently met with General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at the GHQ. Brig (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has termed the meeting highly worthwhile talking to The Nation on July 23. He uttered that with the immense backing of the Pakistan army, International Hockey scene will soon be enhanced within the country. He also stated that the army will provide all the required support to the players and the international teams. He more stated that besides discussing the concerns on Hockey, the army supports the Hockey Federation to resurrect the scene once again.
Assurance of security has been provided by Khokhar for the International Hockey League which will take place later in October and November this year. According to his statement they are currently negotiating with players and the details of the league will soon be announced. Different nations like Netherlands, Australia, Germany will soon visit Pakistan in order to play against Pakistani Hockey Team, this is going to be a great event and a way to strengthen the relationship and bonding among the countries. Rawalpindi Army Ground has been proposed as the place of the event, but it will be decided more lately.
Brig (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar has expressed hopes with the decision of Army support, as they will help to convince the teams as well as the players regarding the safety concerns. He more uttered, although the safety and security of Pakistan have been developed with the Government and Army, that day is not so far when the International Sports events will be organized in this country. World XI and International Hockey League is soon going to depict the scenario.
