Indian Women’s Cricket Stumbles over Loss at World Cup Final

Indian Women’s Cricket team was defeated by England in the World Cup final match at Lords on July 24. It seems as an anti climactic as India was hoping for a memorable victory. 229 runs were the main target, and all the things seemed pretty okay. It was Punam Raut, close to making a century but a sudden collapse at 191 made everyone heartbroken. It was a requirement of 38 runs off 43 balls but the order of Indian lower middle order led all the things to blunder. Thousands of fans broke down as the fiery team was defeated by England.
The World Cup Final at Lords was started with the batting order of Mithali Raj Lynchpin, she ended up as the highest scorer with 409 runs. Jhoolan Goswami, the seasoned seamer led to bring the pace attack in England. Jhoolan made wonder everyone by her aggressive performance on the day, she made a continuous breakthrough with 11 wickets. Punam Raut also performed well during the match. Started with Smriti Mandhana Smiti contributed a half century against the rival in the Final. Harmanpreet Kaur was the star behind the World Cup Final match. Some of her power packed performances has proven her ability and the passion for the game. She was the person behind the knock of the tournament against Australia in the finals.
This is the Fourth World Cup snatched away by England, alongside this is the first time that India is defeated for its second attempt in the final. The first attempt was made in 2005. Following the loss of an early wicket the innings was made by players like Haarmaanpreet Kaur, Mithali Raj and Punam Raut. In spite of the loss, the players earned respect and blessings for their bravery and excellent performance.
