Indian Women’s Cricket Team skipper, Mithali Raj was gifted a BMW car for becoming the highest run getter in the Women’s One Day International. V Chamundeswaranath, Vice President of Telangana Badminton Association handed over the car to Mithali on August 1. Mithali is the first women cricketer to reach the score of 6000 in One Day Internationals.
Officials were present when she was gifted the car at the Pullela Gopichand badminton Academy at Hyderabad. According to the statement of Chamundeswaranath, the car had been gifted to her as promised to her for becoming the highest run getter in the One day Internationals in Women’s Cricket. The cricketer along with the Indian Cricket Team, reached the ICC Women’s World Cup Final, 2017 for the second time.
Mithali became the first women cricketer to score up to seven consecutive half-centuries in One Day Internationals; she also became the first player to cross the limit of 6000 runs in the same. It is not new that Chamundeswaranath has presented a car to Mithali. She was gifted a car by the same person in 2007 for reaching up to the World Cup Final in 2005. She was overwhelmed by such an encouragement, he offered to the sportspersons.
