Kristalina Georgieva, the CEO of World Bank has revealed her interest in her commitment to carry on the work with Pakistan. The CEO has already been pleased by the progress of Pakistan to stabilize the macroeconomic framework within the country. According to a press release, Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, the Prime Minister had been called in New York by Kristalina Georgieva on September 20. Kristalina Georgieva, the CEO had also expressed her willingness to continue her support for further reforms in the land of Pakistan.
The CEO of the World Bank also appreciated the position of Pakistan in the agreement of Indus Water Treaty. Kristalina Georgieva had praised the role of Pakistan in the Indus Water Treaty and termed the stand of Pakistan as constructive and positive. She also remarked that after going through the situation and the stand of the nation, the World Bank is looking forward to stretch out the helping hand to Indus Water Treaty in future. Shahid Khaqan Abbassi, the Prime Minister also remarked on her decision, he told that Pakistan is willing to be engaged with the World Bank so that they could find out a stable negotiated remedy on the matter.
Later, the Prime Minister thanked Kristalina Georgieva for her immense support in Tarbela-4, Dasu Hydropower Project and Tarbela-5. The Pakistani Prime Minister also asked for further support of World Bank for building the Diamer Bhasha Dam within the country. The Diamer Bhasha Dam is a critical project in order to ensure the water security of Pakistan. He told that they are ready to adopt different innovative solutions like power components and separating water for the project.
