Visiting the Ghawind and Rora grounds on October 25, Sports Secretary of Punjab government, Muhammad Aamir Jan said that the government will do everything for the promotion of sports in the province. He added that the Punjab government is making efforts to develop the infrastructure and facilities for sports across the province. Aamir Jan is also the director general of Punjab Sports.
During his visit, the secretary said that the provincial areas of Punjab require more attention and that is why the government and the Sports Board are trying their best to provide world-class facilities for people of Punjab. He added that providing top-level facilities for sporting activities in the remote areas is the vision of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The sports secretary of the province also said after coming into the power, the government has spent a lot for the development of sports in the province. He added that a number of stadiums, grounds and gymnasiums have been built in the last couple of years, while many new projects are on the cards.
While speaking on the development of Ghawind Cricket Ground, the secretary said that top-class facilities like a floodlight, volleyball court, jogging tracks and akhara will be included in the ground. He also spoke about the Rora football ground and said that work on the ground will be completed soon and it will be able to organize competitive matches in near future.
The sports secretary of the Punjab province was accompanied by Nadeem Qaiser, the Lahore Sports Divisional Officer, Nasir Malik, the Assistant Director of Sports Division, Tanveer Shah, the District Sports Officer along with SDO, XEN and other officials.
