Indian American Residents Likely To Be Rewarded For Their Outstanding Achievements

Six Indian Americans from Malayalee community are to be honoured for their exceptional achievements in different fields of specialization. In other words, they will be rewarded for offering their outstanding services to the society on November 4. They will receive the honour at the 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Awards Banquet of the Indian American Kerala Cultural and Civic centre. As per the sources, the event is expected to start around 6.30pm at World’s Fair Marina in Flushing. Sandeep Chakravorty, the Consul General of India in New York will enlighten the event with his presence as the chief guest. In addition, Dr Abraham George would play the role of the keynote speaker in the evening.
This year’s list of honorees include Dr AKB Pillai for Humanities, writer Dr Sheela NP for Literature, Community volunteer Sheela Sreekumar for Community Service, Ginsmon Zacharia for his contributions and achievement in the field of media, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, the US Representative for Washington state’s seventh congressional district and the first Indian American woman to be elected as one of the US House of Representatives in the field of Political Leadership and Attorney Appen Menon, an associate at Wormser, Kiely, Galef & Jacobs LLP law firm located in the regions of New York for the role within Legal Services.
Thambi Thalappollil, the Kerala centre President remarked that every year they nominate a few individuals and the committee has to finally declare the ultimate result. The nominations are similar to the previous years; there is no difference in terms of differentiation compared to the other years. The Chairman of the 25th Anniversary Dinner also remarked that they honour only those, who have left a significant contribution to the society.
