According to a source, a number of leading Indian TV channels are secretly trying to contact with Pakistan artists so they can include them in their popular TV shows. The source said the receiving request from several Indian TV channels, many artists applied for India visa, but it seemed that Indian embassy was not in the mood of allowing Pakistani artists to visit India.
Many Pakistani singers, actors and technicians had worked in the Indian film industry, but the unfavourable political condition barred them pouring their talent in Bollywood. Popular Pakistani artists like Sajjad Ali, Humaima Malick, Adnan Siddiqui, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar and many others have recently been approached by filmmakers from Bollywood, but they rejected the offers citing the reason of busy schedule in Pakistan. They later said that they have adopted Pakistan-first-policy and they will consider Pakistan’s respect and honour first.
A few Pakistani artists are as much popular in India as in their own country and Fawad Khan is definitely one of them. Khan has worked in a couple of Bollywood movies that ran well at the box office. Everything was going fine for him until the Mumbai-based political outfit Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) warned all Pakistani artists to leave India. The warning was issued by the political outfit following a terror attack on Indian forces in Kashmir’s Uri.
The issue turned uglier when the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) supported the MNS and passed a resolution to restrict all Pakistani artists from working in India. Khan decided to keep himself quit and silently left India saying his wife is pregnant and he will have to go home.
