Bangladesh is going to lose its representative to the Miss World 2017, as a report suggested that the winner of Lovello Miss World Bangladesh 2017 is a married woman. According to the report, Jannatul Nayeem, who was crowned as Miss Bangladesh married to a businessman four years ago.

A source revealed that Jannatul participated in the competition hiding her marital status, which is a violation of the rules of competition. Candidates who want to take part in the contest for Miss Bangladesh should be unmarried.

The record shows that Jannatual was the wife of Mohammad Monzur Uddin, the resident of Chittagong’s Chandanaish Upazila. The couple married on March 21, 2013. However, their married life lasted only for two and a half months.

The organizers said that she was divorced so it was not a problem in contending for the crown. However, she concealed the truth and that is why she had been stripped off the title. The runner-up Jessia Islam becomes the new Miss World Bangladesh 2017.

According to the locals, Jannatul was born and raised in Serondi village of Chandanaish Upazila and soon after clearing the secondary examination in 2013, she decided to marry the businessman. Monzur Uddin confirmed that Jannatul was his wife and she stayed in his house just for two months.

Monzur also said that after a couple of months, she decided to go to her parents’ home and asked for divorce on the next day.

Among three finalists – Jessica Islam, Jannatul Nayeem and Jannatun Sumaiya Himi, the jury decided to choose Jannatul as the Miss World Bangladesh 2017. However, a member of the jury claimed that Jessica was the original choice for the jury, but it was the organizer that preferred Jannatul’s name.
