It was a lucky and bright day for Nepal as Dipendra Singh Airee shone with both bat and ball displayed their supremacy. Nepal is about to make a history as they have finally managed to beat cricketing powerhouse India for the foremost time in the history of its cricket on November 12. Airee had shown his dynamic performance throughout the entire game and scored 88 and again came back to seize four wickets for his side. November 12 would be a significant day for Nepal as they successfully managed to defend the 185 runs in order to state a celebrated 19 runs victory at the Bayuemas Oval in Malaysia.
Earlier Nepal had initiated but remained unsuccessful; however, it was the first time that they have been able to beat in its sixth attempt. The previous five matches, three in U-19 Asia Cup and other two in U-19 World Cup against India had been found to be shameful defeats. Aiming at the victory, India had triggered a dynamic start with Himanshu Rana and Manjot Kalra scoring 60 runs throughout the early 10 overs. However, the game turned in favour of Nepal when Kamal Singh Airee took the opening wicket of Rana in the 13th over on just 46.
Most of the players have displayed their dynamic performances and lead to the prestigious victory. Dipendra was in forefront of the Nepali bowling attack and ended with four wickets from his 10 overs. Paras Khadka, the present the captain of the Nepal national cricket team has tweeted “Nepal u-19 beats India u-19…Amazing performance from the lads…It does not get any better than this…wow…lost for words…!!!Jai Nepal.”
