Indian American Father Taken into Custody for Driving with His Deceased Son’s Body

Recently, an Indian American resident had been arrested on the charges of felony injury to a minor. The accused father is a resident of Rocky Hill, Connecticut.  The incident took place on November 18.  According to the statement of the police, the man was driving along with his unresponsive infant; in addition, he neither hunted nor provided medical attention to the child as well.  Presently, Divya Bharat Patel (34) had been taken to Hartford, Connecticut Correctional Centre and he had received a bail of $1 million.

According to the reports, the child died due to the negligence of his father.  One of the spokeswomen from Connecticut State police remarked that the police started the investigation into the death of Aayan and would try to establish whether his father had any part in his death. She also added that in such cases, he might face a murder charge.

The Medical Examiner’s office also had not clarified the reason behind the death of Aayan. As per the arrest warrant, Patel’s wife anxiously called on emergency helpline number to admit Aayan was not breathing and she needs help. She also informed that the child was with his father in a car in Rocky Hill.

Soon after the arrival of the police, they found that the father had left with his son. Later, they had been able to contact him, but he was reluctant to admit where he was. Later, they had traced his location with the help of GPS monitoring and found that Patel was driving across Glastonbury area that is situated about 15 miles away from Rocky Hill area. About half an hour later he returned and the police managed to capture him.
