According to the latest reports, the security forces had claimed to free 18 prisoners. They also informed that there were 18 foreigners and two kidnappers, who had been captured during a sudden operation carried out in Turbat district of Balochistan. According to the statements of the security force, they had carried out a sudden raid across the regions of Turbat in Balochistan. The sudden raid had helped them to recover 18 hostages from the place. The reports reveal that 15 of the released foreigners belonged to Nigeria and one hailed from war-affected Yemen.
There are a few media outlets who were claiming that there were total 20 prisoners and two of them had been killed during the operation. Reports suggest that twenty bullet-riddled dead bodies had been found across the regions of Turbat and Buleda area of Kech district of Balochistan province some time back.
The deceased persons belonged to Punjab and they were heading towards Balochistan with the assistance of human traffickers. They were most likely to cross the Pak-Iran border unlawfully. Previously, Mian Saqib Nisar, the Chief Justice of Pakistan had informed about the suo motu notice of the slaughter of 20 people in Turbat of Balochistan.
The chief justice had asked for a detailed report on the incident from the director of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the provincial police chief of Balochistan within three days. They would have to answer to the apex court regarding the steps they had taken with an aim of preventing such matters in future. The region remains in utter tension due to insurgent activities and chaos most of the times. Presently, the Government is trying to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
