Qamar Javed Bajwa, the honorary Army Chief General has confirmed the death sentence of an added 10 hardcore terrorists, who were rewarded with the death penalty by the military courts. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) remarked on January 19 that the prisoners were drawn in numerous heinous terrorist activities including the murder of guiltless civilians, attacks on educational institutions, attacking law enforcement agencies (LEAs), the butchering of soldiers and the armed forces of Pakistan. According to the report from the media wing of militaries, the 10 terrorists were accused of murdering 41 officials and injuring 33 others.
It also added that armaments and explosives were also recovered from their ownership. The report further stated that the prisoners were tried in the military courts. The prisoners have confessed their offence in front of the trial court and the magistrate. They also confessed that all of them were members of different forbidden organisations. ISPR told aside of these ten, three other prisoners have been rewarded with imprisonment for varying span by the military courts.
Name of the prisoners are Sami ur Rahman s/o Gul Habib, Azeem Khan s/o Shaiber, Arshad Bilal s/o Khadim Khan, Anwar Ali s/o Fazal Ghaffar, Muhammad Aleem s/o Abdul Rasheed, Fazal Aleem s/o Abdul Rasheed, Rasool Muhammad s/o Ahmed Jan, Sohail Ahmed s/o Usman Ali, Naimat Ullah s/o Ahmed and Rahmat Ali s/o Noor.
All of them were accused of different violent activities like murdering, attacking innocent civilians, conspiracy, killing soldiers and police officials, destruction of public property like schools, injuring others. The decision is expected to be helpful in reducing terrorist activities throughout the region.
