The Nepal Police have arrested six fraudsters on January 15. They have also revealed that a gang was in operation across the region and duped over 60 common citizens by assuring them a job in the external intelligence agency of India, RAW.  The police have revealed that six people were allegedly collecting a huge amount of cash from unsuspecting individuals. They also made false promises of securing those jobs at the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).  The arrested individuals have been recognized as Santosh Karki, Ramananda Nauniya, Padam Bahadur Shrestha, Binod Karki, Chitra Bahadur Shrestha and Geeta Maharjan.

The police also informed, the mastermind of the gang, Nauniya had been using false letterhead of the Indian Embassy to prepare counterfeit job contracts with the help of others. An individual is charged between 3 lakh to 5 lakh Nepalese rupees for the assurance of the job in the external intelligence agency of India, RAW. Dibesh Lohani, the Superintendent of Police, Teku also remarked that Nauniya used to get reports from his hired sources. He instructed his people to visit several areas and observe the activities and asked them to report back.

The SP also added that the gang had duped over millions of rupees from numerous common people. He used to ask the job seekers to pay him an amount equivalent to the salary of four months for his service offerings for the lucrative job. The police had conducted an investigation into them after following the complaints from a dozen of victims. The investigation has made their eyes wide open and they began the hunt.  The victims have confessed that they promised an employment with a monthly remuneration of 75,000 Nepalese rupees.
