Floris Jan Bovelander, the Former Netherlands penalty corner specialist has shared his excitement on his recent trip to Pakistan as a part of World XI tour. In his video statement shared by the Pakistan Hockey Federation, he remarked on his excitement to make another visit to the country. The video showed, Bovelander sitting in his office with a picture of Netherlands match against Pakistan in the backdrop. Making indication to the picture, he remarked that the viewers could see some good memories from the 90s and the 80s. He also indicated towards a hanging picture and stated that was from the Olympics 1988 playing Pakistan.
The hockey agent also remarked that was from the moment of that prestigious triumph against Pakistan in Lahore. That year was in favour of Netherlands. Four years later, Pakistan also beat them in the final world cup. It was a precious moment for both Holland and Pakistani hockey. Bovelander also remarked that he believed that Pakistan should be at the pinnacle of Hockey. It was very unfortunate that there were numerous problems keeping up at the international level. He also wished his cordial support to the nation to make a comeback.
He also shared his interest to meet old friends and revisit the memories across the country. He added if the glorious past of Hockey aspires the children and motivates the youths to get back to the sport. Bovelander used to be a part of the Dutch national squad in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Throughout his career, Bovelander had played 241 international matches for the Netherlands and scored a total of 216 goals.
